The latest show form Hero Complex Gallery is 'Kung Fu Theater' co-curated by Craig Drake & Adam Smasher and will run three weekends from November 14th – 30th.

There's some impressive work from some impressive names at this show so it was a privilege to be asked to take part.  As soon as I was I knew exactly what I wanted to do for it...

My love for Star Wars has always fallen just the wrong side of obsessive.  Its not just that they're fun films to watch, its that they have such a depth behind them in terms of influences; from Asian cinema to philosophy via 1940s sci-fi serials.  But it was the Samurai influence on Darth Vader's suit that provided the inspiration for my latest print.  By ripping all of the detail out of traditional Samurai armour Ralph McQuarrie created an iconic villain, sleek and simple in its execution.  Here was an opportunity to put all that detail back in and celebrate Vader's Japanese roots.
